By combining an aluminized layer with plastic films, the packaging creates a physical barrier against moisture, oxygen, and light while maintaining mechanical strength and user convenience.

The fundamental principle behind the multi-layer composite structure lies in the complementary functions of the various materials. The outer layer is usually printed to showcase the brand; the intermediate aluminized layer reflects UV rays and blocks gas permeation; and the inner food-grade plastic film ensures safe contact with the contents. Solvent-free lamination eliminates chemical residues, while 10-color printing technology accurately reproduces design patterns. This structural design allows for a water vapor transmission rate of less than 1.5 g/m²·24h and an oxygen transmission rate of less than 3 cm³/m²·24h·atm.

Technical variations in pet food packaging within the industry primarily center on the balance between barrier performance and cost. Aluminized films offer superior barrier properties compared to pure plastic films but come at a higher cost; similarly, while a three-layer structure increases material costs by approximately 30% compared to a single-layer design, it can extend the product's shelf life by two to three times. Although incorporating a zipper adds 5–8% to production costs, it significantly enhances consumer convenience and resealability.
